hi all - so i thought i'd drop some ramblings from the road....so here goes. brandon and i made it to vermillion, south dakota without a hitch. the bandwagon ran like a champ. with no a.c. or stereo we got a lot of new ideas to put into action soon. oh yeah - i also finished two new originals! woo-hoo. i hope the creative juice continues to flow....there just something about being on the road! those of you who are familliar with the "north dakota" lyrics "driving north dakota no beginning no end, not much to do just drink beer and sin..." well, it seems that the same can be said for iowa. i had to start in on the strohs somewhere around iowa city. aaahh, on the road again. well, i didn't get to crash until around 5 a.m. so i'm going to relax a bit. there's a jazz concert tonight to check out, and i'm really stoked about that.
b - let me know when you get to where you're going. thanks again for the lift! drive safe and have fun in oregon. c-unit - happy birthday! hope you have a great one. you're lucky i'm half a continent away or else you'd be drinking all the rum in central ky! take care
ps to all - anyone coming through south dakota in a few weeks? i still don't know how i'm getting back to the 'fort! oh well

Hey folks!
Made it to Oregon this afternoon. 2,936 miles door to door. Bandwagon ran like a top, didn't even burn any oil. The heat wave gripping the midwest was not gripping the northwest, and the weather was to die for the whole way out (past Nebraska).
I picked up some really nice hitchhikers and took them 1,800 miles to Eugene Oregon. They should be on here soon to drop a post, they're really good folks. They have some great stories to share, we had a lot of fun talking & poking me to keep me awake for 36 hours straight.
Cheers all! Happy Bday Craigster!!!!! -B

Hola amigos--
Diggin' the site. My band, Global Review (www.globalreviewmusic.com) recently added Local Spirits link. Not that its going to send you any traffic, but its there.
Nate--Looking forward to hearing your new tunes and adding some melody to them. Any thoughts on a Grilled Cheese 2006 Reunion setlist? Gotta do a Pass it On....speaking of which, my new band Boondocks has been rocking Pass it On...some really sweet harmonies. Its even on our 4-song demo and I introduce it each time as your tune...people dig it. Seadar and I sing it too.
Be seeing ya soon!!!

Aaron,
Thanks for the link. I'm not sure if our site will send you guys many hits either, but it's still awesome.
Nate,
Hope you're doin' great bro. I really loved all the conversations, good times on the road. Good luck finding a return valve.
Regards -B

hi all - here i am again, updating from the road. i think today is sunday? they all seem to run together when you're on vacation. yesterday was too much fun. we rented a party barge for the day and took it out on the st.croix river. there were eight of us in all that went and i'll certainly post a photo as soon as i can. i should preface this by saying that there were supposed to be ten of us. mark and mel had bail at the last minute due to some gnarly food poisoning. we had gone to an east african resturant the night before. that was an experience in and of itself! you had to eat your food by tearing off peices of bread and scooping whatever you wanted. the bread is called biddeena and if you haven't tried it...well you should. anyway, mark got really ill and the last thing he needed was to be on a boat all day. he's better now, and they both joined us last night for thai!. we also had some pretty intense games of hawaiian horseshoes yesterday. that was a blast. anyway, we're heading out today. we plan on stopping by the local farmers market for a while before hitting the highway. i hope all is well with everyone else. take care.

It great to hear that you guys are having such an awesome time out there in the wild west. Nate, how did the show go last night? Please give all of yourall's fans an update! ♥
I noticed the calendar on here stops in July. SO, how long are we going to have to make it before everyone's back and we can get another Local Spirits show? I think I'm starting to go through withdrawl!
...must....see....local....spirits....soon.
hahaha. much love.

Hello all,
The hard drive in my laptop blew up, hence no more Local Spirits updates until I get back in town. The MySpace site seems to be doing well (300 plays, 200 views, and 100 friends in.. 3 days?), thanks for everyone checking it out. Hopefully the repair shop will be able to do something about the hard drive, but I think it's gone for good.

One more thing -
The local luthier here in southern Oregon is interested in making me a custom dreadnought+ redwood & walnut acoustic electric bass. I'm going to go hunting for some wood down south in Cali, within the next few days. Wish me luck at finding a beaut.
Cheers -BT

This is Fran on the road. Thanks to all who have inquired about my safety after this morning's tradgedy in Lexington. I was indeed on Delta, but flying out of Cincy. I'm safe and sound sitting in Boston at the moment. I'll try to stay in touch from PEI, but I'm unsure of the access I'll have. Take care.

Hey Fran... Thanks for the update. I was pretty worried when I heard the news. I've very glad that everyone (you, taylor, natalie, and the others that flew out after the wedding) are alright.
I hope you have an excellent vacation. Safest of travels, and we will all be looking forward to your return.

hey all - i'm also very thankful that all of my friends are safe and well. it was definitely a pretty tense morning. we did, however, lose a very special person from our habitat family. pat smith, who was a hero to so many from india after the tsunami, and in africa, and now in the gulf. he was a genuinely nice guy who i really admired. so please keep all of these families in your thoughts. also, please be sending brandon some positive vibrations as he's also lost someone this week. so be positive people....life's fragile. take care of yourselves and each other.
peace
