it was great to check out the site yesterday. it was also great to meet peggy and jim. we really appreciate them letting us have this party out there.
there was a lot of discussion about the weather...and the fact that we have no control over it. so we really should have a plan b. if it's really cold i don't think people are going to stick around...no matter how big the fire is! and rain would be devastating. BUT we're hoping for clear skies and 70 degrees. i just think it would be a smart move to have a secondary inside venue just in case.
a penny for your thoughts...
actually i'm broke so you'll have to give them to me free!

I called the Plant Board and it is already rented out that day..... So i am not sure because we want to have the pig and corn hole and all other outdoor activities, so we are limited.

corn hole is easily an indoor/outdoor game and we can always smoke the pig and bring it in. also, the smoker would fit in a parking space wouldn't it? hehe. we could tailgate before the party!
i'm still pulling for sunny and 70!

Greetings
Sorry I missed out on coming.
Leslie mentioned something about using Nat's generator, that you guys were concerned about running the power over extension cords. Those are pretty loud... what's yours like Nat?
We've ran power pretty far before (remember that practice when the electricity was out?) and it worked fairly well... I think that's definitely the preferred possibility, if it is one. I don't know about water & electric though, as those don't mix, obviously..
Just my $0.02. It sounds like the combination of tents is going to help. How are we going to promote this thing?
Cheers -B
PS 1 keg or 2? Coors Light and what? I need to order it soon

ground control to major tom - have you talked to steve? give me a call on my work phone 859-983-3270
i'm 98% sure about the building supplies. i'll probably pick them up on thursday.
and i'm sure we'll have enough extension cords. i've probably got a couple hundred feet myself and access to probably a thousand more. i don't think extension cords will be an issue.
i'd still feel better with a plan b. i'm sure something will present itself. i'm feeling a turn in the weather and i think it's going to be great....i hope. we need to start spreading the word!

fran has tents that she said we could use. 10x10's i think. the weather is going to be perfect. we all have to keep positive about that. mom is still doing her ancient anti-rain dance daily. maybe i should start mine... dad is getting the plywood this weekend, whenever you guys want to put something together, head that way. he's got plenty of tools and such.
i'm thinking on a plan b. i have a idea, i just need to follow up with it...i'll keep you posted.
i've started spreading the word through myspace...i'm sure not many people will want to miss this, and if it is just the five of us-more piggy and beer!!!

Sorry I've been absent during all this discussion. I have 2 10X20 canopies. I suppose I can be talked into toting them out. Bribery welcome. They are like the one that used to be on the Dragon top deck, but slightly smaller. I think theirs was 12X20. The weather looks promising. I think I'm bringing the pop-up camper out. Camille and I have first dibs, but it will hold a couple more cozily.
Hey Les, is it ok if I bring Ms. Maizie out with me. She and Lou should get along well.

yes you can bring maizie with you, all dogs are welcome. we just have to make sure they stay out of the street. we'll be in the back field and i'm sure they won't venture off too far from the pig!!!

i think the tent that i'll have access to is a 20 x 60...a monster. BUT that could be great if the weather did make a turn for the worse!
